Our third annual MusicFest fundraiser, held November 3 at the Manchester Millyard Museum, was a huge success. Local music sensations The Rafters and Chelsea Berry entertained a packed house of supporters and friends, who also enjoyed a delicious spread provided by the Common Man restaurant. We also shared the stories of some of the girls we build with, and talked about why this mission of empowering girls at risk is so very important. To raise the money that enables Girls at Work to empower young girls at risk through our programs, we held raffles and silent auctions that offered some amazing prizes. The most magical moment of the evening? Seeing 11-year-old Chloe Fitzgibbons win an iPad in the Heads-and-Tails raffle!
We are so grateful for the outpouring of support at this event and want to shout out heartfelt thanks to our board members, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and incredible supporters from all over New England who came out to support us! A special thank you goes to our MusicFest committee—Rob Grimmett, Laurie Johnson, Daria Harvey, Melody Evans, and Tina Gleisner—whose efforts made all the difference this year.
Be sure to save the date for next year’s 4th Annual MusicFest: Saturday, November 2, 2013! You won’t want to miss it!
