At Girls at Work, we pride ourselves in having built a welcoming environment that encourages girls to believe in themselves, even on their most difficult days. Using the Socratic Method of instruction in our workshops enables us to train interested individuals, even those who are not woodworkers, on how to be effective instructors. Our goal is to teach the girls to use power tools safely while encouraging them to think critically about how each project is built. The experience of building with power tools elevates self-confidence and self-esteem which leads to a new narrative for our girls, one of strength and courage.
