Summer Camp

Empowered, Capable, and Confident

Just like our afterschool program, summer camp provides girls with an opportunity for empowerment through building and the use of power tools.

During summer camp, builders complete amazing projects, including picnic tables, benches, and several projects to take home. The picnic tables are donated to local nonprofits at the end of the summer.

In addition to building, summer camp includes visits from a variety of local Manchester, NH businesses/organizations, including the Manchester Garden Club, the Millyard Museum, the Manchester Mounted Patrol, and more!

About Girls at Work Summer Camp

We pride ourselves on having created a powerful environment where all girls discover that they are strong and capable through experiential learning. Because our world needs powerful girls and women now more than ever. Our team believes in every girl who walks through our doors wholeheartedly and that they deserve the opportunity to discover what ignites their passion and power from 3D printing, laser cutting, and robotics just to name a few. That is what our summer camp is all about, providing diverse opportunities that tap into their creative side and leave them believing that they are capable of all things.

Each morning our girls will dig deep into their critical thinking skills to discover how to turn precut lumber into benches, tables and even some creative builds. All of these projects go home with their builder as a visible reminder of how capable they are. All girls are overly capable of everything and that is what we are most focused on during summer camp.

Every afternoon our girls will dig into the field of technology with 3D printers, laser cutters, and even try their hand at building a robot. With so many tech careers available we believe it is important to ignite their creative potential early on so they consider the endless opportunities outside of their comfort zone.

One of the most exciting things about our summer camp is that we have volunteers visit each day for lunch. They are required to bring fresh fruit and serve lunch and then sit with our builders to learn about how powerful building is for young girls. This is an opportunity to not only be seen and valued by our team but also by dedicated members of our community.

Many of our girls live in challenging environments and we are here to help however we can. Wether they need a winter coat, a backpack with school supplies or groceries to help families falling short. Our community steps up for us so we can step up for our girls. Empowerment comes in many forms and we pride ourselves in checking off as many boxes as possible.

Thank You!
