AFTER SCHOOL, SUMMER PROGRAMS & MORE

Building Confidence. Building Trust. Building Resilience. Building Skills. Building Dreams.
When girls learn how to build, the outcomes reach far beyond what they can create with power tools. Girls at Work, Inc. creates opportunities for girls to find the courage, confidence, and character to overcome risk, persevere through mistakes, and conquer their challenges. It’s where girls come face to face with new experiences, discover their potential, and develop an internal drive to reach their goals. Imagine what happens when girls apply these powerful capabilities beyond Girls at Work, Inc. It’s a world where every girl feels empowered, confident and capable.

Ages 8 – 13
In our after school workshops, girls will be learning and practicing building skills in a safe and powerful way to achieve confidence and believe they are capable. When girls see what they are capable of creating, they take pride in their achievements, and their confidence grows exponentially.
Sign ups for our after school program are either through our website, www.girlswork.org, or the Manchester School District through Manchester’s 21st Century Program. This program is an eight week block where girls will spend two hours a week building small woodworking projects that they will take home. Be sure to sign up early as space is limited in order to provide smaller and safer class sizes.

Ages 8 – 14
During summer camp, girls will spend the majority of their time building small woodworking projects that they will bring home. They will also do a one day group build together, building a larger project that will be donated to a local non profit. In addition to building, we will also be taking the girls on two field trips, one to the Millyard Museum and another field trip to be determined. Stay tuned for more information and registration for Summer Camp 2023.

Ages 11-13
At Girls at Work, Inc. connections are built upon trust. The trust of being handed a power tool profoundly impacts a young girl, making her feel important and validated. This experience demonstrates the significance of reliance within relationships. The result? Girls who value kindness and empathy, support and empower one another, and build more than connections, they build friendships for life.
Our middle school program is designed to give every girl in your school the opportunity to build an individual project during the school day, in one of her class periods. We coordinate schedules and building space with your school to minimize disruption. Once all the girls have completed their individual project, we provide an opportunity for the girls to sign up for a Team Build where they not only build picnic tables, but also build confidence, trust, and new friendships.
